Woman's unnatural death in matrimonial home, within 7 years of marriage, not sufficient to convict husband/in-laws for dowry death: Supreme Court

The bench held that mere unnatural death of a woman in the matrimonial home within seven years of marriage is insufficient to convict the husband or in-laws under Sections 304-B and 498-A IPC if cruelty or harassment has not been proven to have occurred soon before the death.
