The Telecommunications Act, 2023
Chapter I
Preliminary
1. Short title, extent and commencement.-
(1) This Act may be called the Telecommunications Act, 2023.
(2) It extends to,-
(i) the whole of India; and
(ii) to any offence committed or contravention made outside India by any person, as provided in this Act.
(3) It shall come into force on such date1 as the Central Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint and different dates may be appointed for different provisions of this Act and any reference in any such provision to the commencement of this Act shall be construed as a reference to the commencement of that provision.

2. 5th July, 2024.-Sections 6 to 8, 48 and 59(b), vide Notification No. S.O. 2623(E), dated the 5th July, 2024, see Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, sec. 3(ii).
