Chapter IV
Survey of Inland Vessels
7. Power to classify and categorise for purpose of survey.-
(1) For the purposes of this Chapter, -
(a) the classification of mechanically propelled vessels;
(b) the criteria for such classification; and
(c) the standards of design, construction, fitness and crew accommodation of such vessels, shall be such, as may be prescribed by the Central Government.
(2) The State Government shall classify and categorise mechanically propelled inland vessels on the basis of criteria and standards referred to in sub-section (1).
