202. Crimes committed using electronic messages, letters, etc.
(1) Cheating Offenses:
- If someone commits a crime that involves cheating, and they use electronic messages, letters, or telecommunication messages to trick someone, the case can be heard in court:
- Where the messages were sent.
- Where the messages were received.
- If someone cheats someone else and gets them to give them something (like money or property), the case can also be heard in court:
- Where the deceived person gave the property.
- Where the accused person received the property.
(2) Offenses under Section 82 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023:
- If someone commits a crime punishable under Section 82 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, the case can be heard in court:
- Where the crime happened.
- Where the offender used to live with their first spouse.
- Where the offender's first wife now lives (if they separated after the crime).
